Giulia Fraterrigo is a researcher at the Bioengineering and Computing Laboratory (BIC) at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna, Italy. She earned her master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Politecnico di Torino, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences. Her research focuses on the computational analysis of both micro- and macro-structural determinants of bone strength in intact and pathological conditions.
She has expertise in generating and validating patient-specific finite element models, processing high-resolution imaging data, and analyzing the biomechanical behavior of new implantable devices for skeletal reconstruction.
Giulia has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and projects, and has participated in international conferences and workshops. She is interested in openness and reproducibility in musculoskeletal research and is an active member of the Open and Reproducible Musculoskeletal Imaging Research (ORMIR) Community.
