Gianluca Iori
Gianluca Iori holds a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from the University of Bologna (Italy), and a Ph.D. in biomechanics from the Technical University of Berlin (Germany). His research focuses on 3D imaging and numerical simulation. Between 2020 and 2024, Gianluca has coordinated the design, installation and commissioning of the ID10-BEATS beamline for X-ray microtomography at SESAME synchrotron in Jordan. The beamline was inaugurated in June 2023 and is welcoming users since 2024. In July 2024, Gianluca joined as a PostDoc the X-ray tomography group of Prof. Marco Stampanoni at the ETH of Zurich (Switzerland) to work on the development of grating-interferometry phase-contrast X-ray imaging modalities for clinical applications.
